The Irish Weighing Association (IWA) has recently been formed as the trade association for companies in the Irish weighing industry. We would like to congratulate the IWA on their formation and wish them well in their endeavours.
The following is a statement from the Irish Weighing Association.
"The Irish Weighing Association is the NEW national trade association for manufacturers, dealers, repairers, installers and service organisations in the weighing machine industry. The IWA believes that the principles of fair competition, equitable trading and value for money are the basis for good business between its members and their customers. The IWA was formed to provide both members and customers an organisation that recognises the necessity to provide the highest level of standards within the industry and the ability as one body to work with the legislative bodies in Ireland and in Europe to ensure the interests of the Irish weighing industry and its customers are heard. On the 27th February the 15 member companies of the IWA - Irish Weighing Association held their inaugural AGM and voted in the management board for the coming year. The Member companies have agreed to follow a calibration code of practice customers can be assured that when using member companies they will benefit for the highest level of expertise and quality.
