NAWI Notes for Guidance: 2009 edition
NWML have recently published a revised edition of the Notes for Guidance to the Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Regulations 2000 as amended by the 2008 NAWI (Amendment) Regulations 2008.
As you would expect the main changes to the previous version of the Notes relates to the change to the regulations which now permits all TSOs to carry out re-verification and allows any repairer or installer to apply for certification to carry out re-verification as an "authorised verifier" under the provisions of Section 11A of the Weights and measures Act 1985.
The new Notes can be downloaded from the NWML web-site, www.nwml.gov.uk. Please ensure you download Version 4 dated February 2009, it is possible though difficult to still access version 3 of the Notes through the web-site and there are some significant differences.
Annex 6 to the Notes deals with the availability of verification stickers. NWML are now offering a service to supply some stickers and the Notes give a contact email address for enquiries about ordering. Not all the required stickers can be obtained from this source ( specifically the M sticker and the CE mark will not be available) but it should prove to be a useful source of help on any questions of supply. |
