Weights and Measures have issued a Draft Statutory Order that will change the law on the sizes of unwrapped loaves of bread.

The Order will allow unwrapped loaves to be made up in any size , but if they are not in the "standard weights  of 400g or a multiplev of 400g then the seller must ensure that buyers are aware of the weight before the sale is agreed; this can be by individual ticket or by a readily available notice defining the types of loaves and the weights.
