Terms & Conditions and Refund Policy

Membership Applications

1.1 Every person or organisation, corporate or unincorporated, who wishes to become a Member shall deliver to the Federation an executed application for membership in such form as the Board of Directors from time to time requires  and details of the application process are laid down in the federations Memorandum and Articles

1.2 There are two categories of member: 
o    Member
o    Associate 

1.3. Submitting a membership application for a specific category does not guarantee membership of this category. UKWF will assess applications for Associates and Members by a process detailed in the Memorandum and Articles

1.4. UKWF reserves the right to refuse any application for membership in accordance with its Memorandum and Articles.

Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct

1.5. All members undertake to abide by the codes of practice as advised by the Federation.

Membership subscription

1.6. Membership subscriptions run for a period of one year payable annually in advance. UKWF operate a system of anniversary billing each year. Those joining mid year will pay a pro-rata subscription.

1.7. Membership fees are revised annually and members will be notified of the fee changes by email via their subscription renewal notice. 

Membership resignation

1.8. A Member may at any time resign from the Federation by giving a minimum of 3 (three) calendar months’ notice. Any such notice must be in writing and sent for the attention of the Secretariat to the Federation.  If the expiry of such notice period falls on or after the 1st January, the Member shall be obliged to pay the full subscription or levy in respect of that financial year.  Such resignation shall not entitle the Member to any repayment of any subscription or levy paid in respect of the financial year in which such Member resigns.

1.9 Membership shall not be transferable and shall cease on death or liquidation.

1.10 subscriptions are non refundable. 

Complaints Procedure

1.11. UKWF undertakes to serve its members effectively and fairly and member feedback is important. In the event of a complaint or grievance then members are advised to call the UKWF secretariat or a member of the board. Contact details are found on the Website.

1.12. Where possible the issue will be dealt with immediately. If further investigation is required then a response will be provided within five working days. If it is not possible to resolve the problem within that time, advice will be given on how long the investigations are likely to take.

1.13. UKWF reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

Membership of the UK Weighing Federation will cease if:

2.1 A member gives notice in writing before the annual renewal date that they wish to resign their membership.

2.2 A member’s conduct brings UKWF into disrepute and the board deems they should be removed from membership. They will not be able to describe themselves as a member or be refunded any subscriptions.

2.3 A Members subscription payment remains outstanding 3 months after the due date will result in the membership being considered lapsed and the directors have the right to expel or suspend the member.


3.1 Only fully paid up Members are entitled to discounted training course rates where applicable.

3.2 UKWF website users may purchase memberships and book training courses. 

3.3 VAT is chargeable at the prevailing rate

3.4 All purchases are non-refundable.

3.5 Delivery is immediate upon payment. Paid members will be able to access their benefits through the website instantly.

3.6 We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties
